Tanja Illukka graduated from the Theatre Academy with a Master of Dance Arts degree in 2003.
She has a rare continuum of working as a dancer in the works of significant Finnish choreographers. She has collaborated long-term with choreographers Petri Kekoni, Ismo-Pekka Heikinheimo, Favela Vera Ortiz, and Heidi Masalin. Tanja Illukka is a project-based dancer for Petri Kekoni Company and Ismo Dance Company. In the contemporary dance group Katve [blind spot], she actively works as both a dancer and a choreographer. In 2023, the Finnish Dance and Circus Artists Association awarded Illukka the Tanssin Maineteko prize.
