Janne Masalin is a musician and a creator of film and performing arts.
He makes music, performing arts, and short films, working as a sound designer, composer, and musician. Performances and short films he has sound designed and composed for have been presented in Finland at events such as the Helsinki Festival, Cirko, Zodiak, and the Tampere Film Festival, as well as in various theaters across Europe. Masalin was the frontman and songwriter for Tundramatiks, known for its bold and breathtaking music and performances, as well as for the 13-member brass band Bad Ass Brass Band. He has released albums with both Tundramatiks and Bad Ass Brass Band, as well as two solo albums. With his bands and as a solo artist, he has toured extensively at nearly all of Finland’s festivals and clubs.
