The performance that captivated audiences at Tanssin talo and combines dance with live music will be seen on AB Dance Company's stage in June.
The work, which explores narcissism and its manifestations in human interaction, brings music and movement to the forefront through four dancers and four musicians. The composition is written for four instruments, whose live performance elevates the piece into a multi-sensory experience.
Musta narsissi (Black Narcissus), situated at the intersection of dance theatre and contemporary dance, features experienced dancers whose bodies carry a lifetime of dance and movement.
The performance intertwines art and research. To deepen the exploration of the theme, Academy Professor Anssi Peräkylä has contributed research insights from the project The Faces of Narcissism (2019–2023), which investigated how narcissistic tendencies among participants shape social interaction.
